Pryor Named to MBWA DI Honorable Mention

First year earns third accolade of the week after NEC weekly honors
NEW YORK, N.Y.— Sacred Heart University women's basketball guard Ny'Ceara Pryor was selected as a Division I Honorable Mention by the Metropolitan Basketball Writers Association on Tuesday for its weekly honor roll.
The designations, for games played Dec. 5-11, are unique in that they encompass players from 66 Met area schools across Divisions I, II and III.
This is the third weekly accolade for the native of Baltimore, Md., after taking Northeast Conference Co-Player and Rookie of the Week on Monday. Pryor is the first player to be named to the MBWA Honorable Mention since Candice Leatherwood'19 on Feb. 13, 2018.
Pryor tabbed back-to-back 20+ point performances. Pryor has scored 20 or more in four contests so far this season. The guard had 22 points against Bryant followed by a season-high 27 points at Fairfield. Her season high is the most points made in a game by a rookie in program history since Gabrielle Washington'15 had 27 at Bryant on Feb. 15, 2012, and in the NEC since 2020.
Pryor joins Chyna Cornwell (Rutgers), Kaitlyn Downey (Fordham), Gigi Gonzalez (Stony Brook), Izabela Nicoletti-Leite (Fairfield) and Bri Tinsley (Monmouth) in this week's recipients for Honorable Mention. Columbia's Abby Hsu was named Division I Player of the Week.
Sacred Heart returns to the Pitt Center to host Vermont on Sunday at 2 p.m.
