Women’s Basketball’s Carter Promoted to Assistant Coach

Fairfield, Conn. – Sacred Heart women's basketball head coach Jessica Mannetti has announced the promotion of Nola Carter to an assistant coach role with the Pioneers. Carter came to Fairfield County prior to the 2025-26 season as the Director of Basketball Operations and now steps into an on-court role.
"Nola has been a welcomed to addition to our staff and has made an immediate impact on our program and players, said Mannetti. "We are excited to see her continue to grow in her coaching roles and responsibilities and know that she will continue to have a positive and lasting impression with her commitment to our program."
Carter is no stranger to the assistant coach role having come to Sacred Heart following a four-year stint as an assistant coach at Saint Leo University. With the Lions, Carter aided numerous players who reached career milestones and helped guide the program to the Sunshine State Conference Championship Tournament twice. She was nominated for Coach of the Year among Saint Leo athletes and staff in 2023-24.
Additionally, while with the Lions she assisted in a mentorship program centered around relationships, athletics, academic and wellness, bridging those topics on the challenges of transitioning from high school to collegiate athletics and also as a non-athlete.
Sacred Heart will embark on its 53rd season of women's basketball in 2026-27 after advancing to its first ever Metro Conference Championship in 2025-26, just the second year the Pioneers competed in what was previously the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference.
