Hawks Too Much for Pioneers

The Pioneers wrapped up its four-game road trip

PHILADELPHIA, Pa.-- The Sacred Heart University men's basketball team fell 77-59 to Saint Joseph's University, in the Pioneers fourth consecutive road game on Monday evening. Sacred Heart had four players score in double figures, but it wasn't enough as the Hawks secured the home victory at Hagan Arena.

Joey Reilly: 15 points, 4 assists
Raheem Solomon: 13 points, 5 rebounds
Bryce Johnson: 12 points
Nico Galette: 11 points, 6 rebounds

Of Note:
Joey Reilly led four Pioneers in double figures with 15 points as he shot 4-6 from three-point range. Saint Joseph's led by as many as 19 points in the first half and had a 35-18 lead at halftime.

Sacred Heart scored the first six points of the second half as they cut the deficit down to 11, 35-34. Solomon made a layup at 16:49 in the second half that sparked an 11-3 run that brought the Pioneers within seven, 42-35. Sacred Heart went down by 12 in the following minutes before the Hawks answered with a run of their own to take its largest lead of the game 75-45, with 3:55 left in the second half.

The Pioneers scored 14 points in the final three and a half minutes, but it wasn't enough as the Hawks secured the 77-59 final.

Sacred Heart returns home after being on the road for the last four games, on Thursday, Dec. 22, at 11:30 AM as they host Holy Cross in the Pitt Center.
