Box Score TRUMBULL, Conn. – The Sacred Heart University men's tennis team was bested, 5-2, by Bryant on Saturday evening in Northeast Conference action. The Pioneers drop to 4-12 overall and 1-4 in NEC play.
The Bulldogs went 3-0 in doubles action to take the point as
Matyas Vencl and
Tyler Lowe dropped a tight 7-5 decision in the second spot.
Senior
William Wibmer edged Diego Serra at first singles in a three-set match. Wibmer fell in the first set, 6-4, but came back to win the next two, 6-2 and 10-5. The senior remains undefeated against the NEC in the number one spot.
Vencl also brought a point over to the Red & White with a three-set win at third singles. The rookie won the first set, 6-2, before a 1-6 slip in the second set. Vencl prevailed in the third set, 6-2.
The Pioneers hit the road on Tuesday to meet with Fairleigh Dickinson at 1 p.m.
