FAIRFIELD, Conn.— The Sacred Heart University men's soccer team had some good looks throughout it's Northeast Conference opener against Fairleigh Dickinson. Unfortunately, the Pioneers fell short, 2-0, to the Knights on Sunday.
The Knights got on the board with a header from Alberto Herranz off the assist from Eugenio Garcia in the 17
th minute. FDU got an insurance goal in the 74
th minute after Jordan Alonge scored off the free kick for the 2-0 lead.
Five Pioneers each contributed a shot on target, led by
Asa Moskowitz who put two at the net.
Justin Siegel grabbed four saves and is seven away from 100 career stops.
Up next, Sacred Heart travels to defending champion LIU on Thursday at 4 p.m.
