Three Pioneers finish in double-figures
FAIRFIELD, Conn.— The Sacred Heart University women's basketball team went on an 11-0 run down the stretch but, it was not enough to complete the comeback against Merrimack. The Pioneers fell to the Warriors, 66-64, breaking its five-game winning streak on Thursday.

Down by 13 with 3:50 left in the game, first year Sierra Johnson scored a layup that sent the Pioneers on an 11-0 run, making it a 64-62 game with 20 seconds left.
After Merrimack notched 1-of-2 from the free-throw line, senior Carly Stroemel scored on an Olivia Tucker three-point miss to cut the score within one, 64-63. The Warriors eventually drained another free throw to bring the game to its final score.
Sacred Heart was slow to get going in the first quarter, being held to just three-of-14 from the field. The Pioneers responded in the second quarter, shooting 10-of-18 that put them five points behind going into halftime, 32-27.
Merrimack continued to build on its lead, with a 21-14 advantage in the third quarter.
The Warriors outrebounded the Pioneers 43-33.
First year Ny'Ceara Pryor recorded her eighth 20+ point performance with 21. Johnson finished in double-figures for the second-straight game with 15, while Tucker tallied 12.
