SHU had two top-25 finishes
BOSTON, Mass.—After opening the fall season last weekend at home, the Sacred Heart University women's rowing team had a strong showing this afternoon in Boston at the prestigious Head of the Charles Regatta.
The Pioneers had two boats in action on at the 2023 HOTC. The V4 boat of Sydney Marcy, Ava Manzo, Lillian Wilson, Selena Hescock, and Sophia Bittar raced in the Women's Club Fours event and finished with a time of 19:03.655 for an 18th-place finish out of 51 teams.
The V8 boat of Cara McDonald, Saige Harper, Giulianna McCarthy, Olivia Chasse, Gabrielle Gottschall, Susan Munley, Doria Lukasik-Drescher, Caitlin Mahoney, and Amanda Rego raced next in the Women's Club Eights. The SHU V8 boat recorded a time of 17:41.866 as they finished 24th out of 40.
The Pioneers wrap up the fall season next Saturday, October 28, at the Head of the Schuylkill in Philadelphia, Pa.
