Pios had two first-place finishes from Love Daly and Madison Sandquist

EAST STROUDSBURG, Pa. – The Sacred Heart women's wrestling team opened the 2023-24 season on a high note as the Pioneers recorded a first-place finish at the East Stroudsburg University Open on Sunday afternoon inside the Koehler Fieldhouse.

Notables:

Sacred Heart finished 12-points ahead of last year's national runner-up King University who posted a team score of 46 points.
In her first collegiate match for the Pioneers, Love Daly won the 170-pound title.
Madison Sandquist also earned a first-place finish as the junior won the 155-pound title.
Both Daly and Sandquist posted an undefeated mark of 4-0 at the ESU Open.
Finishing in the top-three were Ahsia Torres (2^nd Place), Cara Broadus (2^nd Place), Temi Sanusi (2^ndPlace), Madeline Hodges (2^nd Place), Tayla Tildsley (2^nd Place), and Veronica Whitacre (3^rd Place).
Rounding out the top-six were Aaliyah Payne-Parris (4^th Place), Aliza Leander (4^th Place), Alexandra Fitzgerald (4^th Place), Samantha Yap (5^th Place), Nohea Moniz (5^th Place), Taylor McCormick (6^thPlace), Bayley Trang (6^th Place), Katie Vogt-Shields (6^th Place), Selena Sifuentes Shaffer (6^th Place)
Along with Daly, Hodges, Tindsley, Trang, and Yap appeared in their first collegiate meet for the Pioneers.
