#5 Women's Wrestling Open Season with Strong Showing at East Stroudsburg Open

Pios had two first-place finishes from Love Daly and Madison Sandquist
EAST STROUDSBURG, Pa. – The Sacred Heart women's wrestling team opened the 2023-24 season on a high note as the Pioneers recorded a first-place finish at the East Stroudsburg University Open on Sunday afternoon inside the Koehler Fieldhouse.

- Sacred Heart finished 12-points ahead of last year's national runner-up King University who posted a team score of 46 points.
- In her first collegiate match for the Pioneers, Love Daly won the 170-pound title.
- Madison Sandquist also earned a first-place finish as the junior won the 155-pound title.
- Both Daly and Sandquist posted an undefeated mark of 4-0 at the ESU Open.
- Finishing in the top-three were Ahsia Torres (2nd Place), Cara Broadus (2nd Place), Temi Sanusi (2ndPlace), Madeline Hodges (2nd Place), Tayla Tildsley (2nd Place), and Veronica Whitacre (3rd Place).
- Rounding out the top-six were Aaliyah Payne-Parris (4th Place), Aliza Leander (4th Place), Alexandra Fitzgerald (4th Place), Samantha Yap (5th Place), Nohea Moniz (5th Place), Taylor McCormick (6thPlace), Bayley Trang (6th Place), Katie Vogt-Shields (6th Place), Selena Sifuentes Shaffer (6th Place)
- Along with Daly, Hodges, Tindsley, Trang, and Yap appeared in their first collegiate meet for the Pioneers.
