NEWARK, N.J. – The Sacred Heart University men's soccer team fell to the Highlanders of NJIT 4-0 on Saturday evening in a non-conference contest in Newark, N.J. With the setback, the Pioneers fall to 3-4 on the year.

The Highlanders took a 1-0 lead in the 28th minute off a cross by Enrique Mutosli that Joseph Davis shot behind Pioneers keeper Andrew Hammersley.
NJIT's second score came from Asembo Augo, who found the back of the net with just seconds remaining in the first half, leaving the score 2-0 at the break. The Highlanders tallied two more goals in the second half to seal a non-conference victory.
The Pioneers posted two shots in the match, one on target. SHU saw several close opportunities but did not capitalize on them. Olliver Persson recorded a shot early in the game, but NJIT's Samuel Reisgys saved it. In the second half, Zach Lorenz saw a chance up the left side, but his attempt was tapped out to the right of the goal.
NJIT finished the contest with an 11-2 advantage in shots and a 6-1 edge in shots on goal.
