NEWARK, N.J. – The Sacred Heart University men's soccer team fell to the Highlanders of NJIT 4-0 on Saturday evening in a non-conference contest in Newark, N.J. With the setback, the Pioneers fall to 3-4 on the year.

NJIT's second score came from Asembo Augo, who found the back of the net with just seconds remaining in the first half, leaving the score 2-0 at the break. The Highlanders tallied two more goals in the second half to seal a non-conference victory.
The Pioneers posted two shots in the match, one on target. SHU saw several close opportunities but did not capitalize on them.
Olliver Persson recorded a shot early in the game, but NJIT's Samuel Reisgys saved it. In the second half,
Zach Lorenz saw a chance up the left side, but his attempt was tapped out to the right of the goal.
NJIT finished the contest with an 11-2 advantage in shots and a 6-1 edge in shots on goal.
