Pryor Collects First MAAC Player of the Week Award this Season

The junior guard led SHU in its dominant win over Morgan State on Thursday

EDISON, N.J. – For the first time this season, Sacred Heart University women's basketball standout guard Ny'Ceara Pryor was named the Hercules Tires Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Women's Basketball Player of the Week, as announced on Monday.

Pryor led the Pioneers to their most convincing win of the season on Thursday, defeating Morgan State by a 79-57 final score at the William H. Pitt Center. The junior guard scored a season-high 24 points against the Bears, adding seven rebounds, five assists, three steals and a block to her impressive stat line.

Pryor was instrumental to SHU setting new season-highs as a team in in points (79), rebounds (54), assists (20) and field-goal percentage (.451, 32-for-71). Thursday also marked Sacred Heart's first 20-point win since last season's NEC Semifinals.

The Pioneers open the week with a Monday matchup against BIG EAST foe Seton Hall tonight at 7 p.m. at the Pirates' Walsh Gymnasium in South Orange, N.J.
