SHU gets a 4th place, two 5th places, and a 6th place on final day of championship

CEDAR FALLS, N.Y. – Senior Cara Broadus earned her second All-American honor after placing fourth at 170 pounds to highlight the No. 8-ranked Sacred Heart University women's wrestling team's showing at the 2024 NCWWC National Championships, which concluded Saturday evening.

As a team, the Pioneers took sixth place in the final standings behind a program-best 61 points, just two points ahead of Northeast Regional foe Lock Haven University. Winning the championship was Iowa with 204 points, followed by North Central (IL) with 198 points.

Player Notables:

Four of the Pioneers' 13 competitors at this year's national championships earned All-America status and competed in today's action.
Broadus was the highest finisher in fourth, while Love Daley (170) and Alexandra Fitzgerald (123) were next with fifth-place showings.
This is the second straight year Broadus recorded a fourth-place finish at nationals.
Madison Sandquist rounded out SHU's All-Americans with a sixth-place finish at 155 pounds.
Broadus, Daley, and Fitzgerald finished the day with two wins apiece, while Sandquist earned one.
