The Pioneers will play their first MAAC slate
2024-25 Schedule
FAIRFIELD, Conn. – The 2024-25 season marks exciting times for the Sacred Heart University women's basketball team as the Pioneers will embark on their first campaign in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC). With the start of the regular season just around the corner, Jessica Mannetti debuted the Pioneers' 2024-25 slate.
Sacred Heart is scheduled to play 29 games this season, 14 of which will take place at the newly renovated William H. Pitt Center. The Pios inaugural MAAC campaign will feature 20 games.
SHU heads to Hofstra for its season opener on Monday, Nov. 4, with a 7 p.m. tilt at the Pride's David S. Mack Sports and Exhibition Complex.
The Pioneers will then have a marquee matchup against Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) foe Boston College on Thursday, Nov. 7. After battling the Eagles, SHU plays back-to-back road games against NJIT (Nov. 13) and Albany (Nov. 16).
The date all Sacred Heart fans need to circle is Thursday, Nov. 21, as that will be the opening night for the renovated Pitt Center. The Pios welcome Monmouth at 5:30 p.m. as a part of a doubleheader with the men's team. SHU's battle against the Hawks begins a three-game homestand that features Coppin State (Nov. 24) and Morgan State (Dec. 5).
Sacred Heart will hit the road again on Monday, Dec. 9, to battle BIG EAST affiliate Seton Hall. The non-conference slate comes to a close on Saturday, Dec. 14, with a home tilt against in-state foe Post.
Five days after battling Post, the Pioneers begin MAAC play at Iona on Thursday, Dec. 19. SHU then welcomes Quinnipiac for an in-state conference tilt on Saturday, Dec. 21, at 2 p.m.
The remainder of Sacred Heart's league slate features nine road games, as the Pios will head to Canisius (Jan. 4), Merrimack (Jan. 9), Saint Peter's (Jan. 18), Manhattan (Feb. 1), Rider (Feb. 6), QU (Feb. 13), Siena (Feb. 15), Marist (Feb. 27) and Fairfield (Mar. 1).
The Pioneers' 10-game home MAAC schedule is highlighted by a rematch against defending league champs Fairfield on Feb. 8. The crosstown rivals played in an overtime classic last season, with the Stags stealing a road win.
SHU's regular season will end with home games against Manhattan and Iona on Mar. 6 and Mar. 8, respectively.
The Pios will then be ready for the 2025 MAAC Championship, which will take place on Mar. 11-15 at Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City, N.J.
