Huard Named AHA Forward of the Week After Outstanding Debut Weekend

The junior tallied three points (2G, 1A) to help lead SHU to a sweep of RIT
BOSTON – After helping lead the Sacred Heart University men's ice hockey team to a season-opening sweep at RIT this past weekend, Stephane Huard was named the Atlantic Hockey America (AHA) Forward of the Week, as announced by the league on Tuesday.
The Pioneers put on an impressive showing over their first two games of the season, taking a 1-0 victory in the opener on Friday before cruising to a 6-1 triumph on Saturday. Saturday's win marked the Pios' first 2-0-0 start since the 1996-97 campaign.
Huard was a key component to SHU's fantastic start, leading the team with three points (2G, 1A) while contributing on both game-winning goals. The Blainville, Quebec, native made his collegiate debut in the opening game on Friday, scoring the only goal on a power play in the first period. In the second game Saturday, Huard scored a goal and assisted on the game-winner, faking one defenseman before drawing another away to set up the goal for Felix Trudeau. Huard is tied for ninth in the country with 1.0 goals per game.
The Pios open the 2025-26 home schedule on Saturday, Oct. 18, with a 5 p.m. bout against Stonehill at Martire Family Arena.
