Ajeet Gundarah collected Atlantic Hockey America (AHA) weekly awards. Trudeau was tabbed the AHA Forward of the Week and Gundarah is the Goaltender of the Week.
The Pioneers bounced back in a big way against the Golden Griffins, earning the team's second conference sweep of the season. SHU won 6-1 on Friday and 3-2 on Saturday. Today's award is Trudeau's second AHA weekly award and Gundarah's seventh.
Trudeau paced the AHA this week with five goals. In his 100th career game on Friday, the Terrebonne, Quebec, native tallied his first career hat trick. He followed that up with two first-period goals on Saturday. For the weekend, he tallied two power play goals and led the team with 10 shots. He now paces the AHA with nine goals this season and is tied for first with 12 points.
Gundarah picked up two wins this weekend, making 50 saves with a 1.50 goals against average and a .943 save percentage. The sophomore from Richmond, British Columbia, led the conference this week in all three categories among goalkeepers who played two games. He started the weekend with 24 saves on Friday before tallying 26 on Saturday. Gundarah is now third in the league in both save percentage (.929) and goals against average (1.99).
Sacred Heart next welcomes non-conference foe LIU for a single game on Saturday, Nov. 22, at 5 p.m. at the Martire Family.
