YAPHANK, N.Y.  — The Sacred Heart University equestrian team earned a thrilling team victory over LIU at the IHSA Show hosted by Stony Brook on Saturday, taking the tiebreaker in blue ribbons after both teams finished the day with 40 points. The Pioneers secured the win by collecting four first-place finishes compared to three for the Sharks.

Kylie Hwalek led the way for Sacred Heart, sweeping both the Open Fences and Open Flat divisions to earn High Point Rider honors. The performance marked Hwalek's third High Point Rider title of the season.

Of Note

• In addition to Hwalek's double victory, Erin Phillips (Open Flat), Kayla DeStephanis (Intermediate Fences), Sydney Woychuk (Intermediate Flat), Olivia Herfert (Limit Flat), Gianna Carducci (Limit Flat), and Harley Jimenez (Limit Flat) all secured blue ribbons for SHU, fueling the team's tiebreak edge.
• The Pioneers also picked up key points from Ella DiFazio (3rd, Open Fences), Lilliana St. Pierre (2nd, Intermediate Fences), Isabel Hunt (2nd, Intermediate Flat), and Virginia Martin (2nd, Limit Fences).
• In the Novice division, Morgan McCrave (2nd) and Olivia Dolan (3rd) added valuable scores to round out the team's consistent effort.
