Women’s Golf Picked Third in MAAC Spring Preseason Poll

The Pioneers continue their spring slate on March 5 in Florida
FAIRFIELD, Conn. – Heading into its first spring season in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC), the Sacred Heart University women's golf team was picked third in the 2025 Preseason Coaches' Poll, announced on Thursday.
The Pioneers have had a stellar start to their season in the fall, placing in the top 10 in all five of their events, taking a season-high third at the Battle at the Creek. SHU already kicked off the spring slate with a T6th showing at the Texas State Invitational on Feb. 3-4.
Sacred Heart earned 43 points and one first-place vote in its first MAAC Preseason Poll. Quinnipiac took the top spot with 58 points and four first-place votes, while UAlbany took second with 52 (2).
Merrimack was tabbed fourth with 40 points in their first MAAC spring, six points ahead of Fairfield. Mount St. Mary's (25), Siena (24) and Niagara (12) made up the final three teams in the poll.
The spring swing for the Pioneers continues on Wednesday, Mar. 5, with the opening round of the SHU Spring Break Women's Invite at the Eagle Harbor Golf Club in Orange Park, Fla.
