Three Pioneers Earn NEWHA Postseason Honors

Chaput named to second team, Holm All-Rookie and O’Connell All-Sportswomanship
FAIRFIELD, Conn. - The New England Women's Hockey Alliance has announced its postseason honors, and Sacred Heart is well represented. Isabella Chaput earned second team recognition, Ella Holm was named to the All-Rookie team and Kerryn O'Connell was selected to the All Sportswomanship team.
Chaput, a sophomore, led the team with 13 goals, which tied for fourth in the league. All 13 of her goals and 17 of her 18 points came in league play. She also contributed three game-winning goals.
Holm is second on the team with eight goals and 14 points, all of which came in NEWHA play. She scored game-winning goals against Stonehill, Saint Michael's and Assumption.
O'Connell, a senior, has helped the Pioneers with her speed and strong forechecking.
Sacred Heart opens NEWHA Tournament play hosting Assumption in a three-game quarterfinal series this weekend. Game 1 is Friday at 7 p.m., Game 2 is Saturday at 2 p.m. and Game 3, if necessary, is Sunday at 2 p.m. All games are at the Martire Family Arena.
