Pioneers edge LIU based on season results
NORTHPORT, N.Y. - It was a memorable Sunday for the Sacred Heart equestrian team. In the final IHSA competition of the regular season, hosted by Adelphi and Molloy, a strong SHU result clinched the Zone II Region IV championship for the Pioneers.
The region title is determined by an accumulation of points through the entire season. Sacred Heart won with 373 points, 18 points more than second-place LIU (355).
The final 36 of those points came at Sunday's Adelphi/Molloy competition, earning SHU a second-place finish.
This is Sacred Heart's first season in Zone II Region IV.
