Women's Wrestling Holds Strong in Seventh After Day One of NCWWC National Championships

Alexandra Fitzgerald still alive in the championship bracket at 124 pounds
CORALVILLE, IA - After day one of the 2025 NCWWC National Championships, the Sacred Heart University women's wrestling team currently sits in seventh place with 39.0 points, just 14 points behind sixth-place King University.
The Pioneers earned a total of 17 victories on day one, highlighted by standout performances from Alexandra Fitzgerald at 124 pounds, Temi Sanusi at 145 pounds, and Love Daley at 160 pounds, each securing three wins.
North Central College leads the field with 111.0 points, closely followed by Iowa with 107.5 points. McKendree University is in third with 103.0 points, while Grand Valley State holds fourth with 81.5 points. Presbyterian rounds out the top five with 65.5 points.
The Pioneers will look to continue their strong performance on day two of the NCWWC National Championshipstomorrow inside Xtream Arena. Session three will begin at 10 a.m. (CT), followed by the championship round in session four at 6 p.m. (CT).
