
Fitzgerald and Sandquist Earn All-American Honors at NCWWC National Championship

The Pios finish the two-day tournament in ninth place
CORALVILLE, Ia. – The Sacred Heart University women's wrestling team wrapped up a strong showing at the 2025 NCWWC National Championship, finishing in ninth place overall.
Highlighting the team's success were Alexandra Fitzgerald and Madison Sandquist, who both earned coveted All-American honors for their impressive performances on the national stage. Their standout efforts helped propel the Pioneers to a top-10 finish in a highly competitive field. Fitzgerald concluded the two-day event claiming her third All-American honor after earning a sixth-place finish at 124 pounds. Behind a seventh-place finish at 180 pounds, Sandquist claimed her fourth straight All-American honor.
Temi Sanusi and Love Daley also competed in day two for the Pioneers and fought for a chance to finish within the top eight. Unfortunately for the duo, their time was cut short as both fell in round four of the consolation bracket.
