How it Happened:
Stonehill threatened early with multiple drives into Pioneer territory, but Sacred Heart's defense held firm with two stops in the red zone, sending the game scoreless into halftime.

Momentum swung in the third when Kyle Hall's interception set up SHU in Stonehill territory. After trading turnovers, the Skyhawks were pinned deep and surrendered a safety, courtesy of Myles Hamilton, giving the Pioneers a 2–0 edge.

Sacred Heart capitalized on the next possession with a five-play, 30-yard drive capped by Chuck Webb's nine-yard touchdown run to stretch the lead to 9–0.

Stonehill answered in the fourth with a 71-yard drive, capped by a 10-yard touchdown pass from Jack O'Connell to Zach Kim, trimming the deficit to 9–7.

Midway through the quarter, Sacred Heart responded with a 13-play march that ended in Matt Kling's 29-yard field goal, making it 12–7.

The Skyhawks mounted one final push into the red zone, but the Pioneer defense stood tall, forcing an incompletion on fourth down to secure the season-opening win.
