Myles Hamilton, giving the Pioneers a 2–0 edge.
Sacred Heart capitalized on the next possession with a five-play, 30-yard drive capped by
Chuck Webb's nine-yard touchdown run to stretch the lead to 9–0.
Stonehill answered in the fourth with a 71-yard drive, capped by a 10-yard touchdown pass from Jack O'Connell to Zach Kim, trimming the deficit to 9–7.
Midway through the quarter, Sacred Heart responded with a 13-play march that ended in
Matt Kling's 29-yard field goal, making it 12–7.
The Skyhawks mounted one final push into the red zone, but the Pioneer defense stood tall, forcing an incompletion on fourth down to secure the season-opening win.
