Pioneers Fall Short on the Road to Providence

Thievon and Mulligan each record season high in saves
Providence, RI. – The Sacred Heart University women's soccer team fell to the Providence Friars, 1-0, on the road Wednesday night in Providence, Rhode Island.

How it Happened:
The first 45 minutes was a defensive clinic out of Kyran Thievon, the junior goalkeeper had six saves.
The Pioneers had difficulty getting their offense going, creating a few pushes toward the net but unable to turn them into shots on target.
The second half featured strong defensive play from the Pioneers. The Friars broke through with an early goal, but the Pioneers' goalkeeping stood tall the rest of the way.
SHU had a late push, but were unable to find the back of the net.

Sacred Heart travels to Siena on Saturday September 6th to start conference play at 1 P.M.
