BOSTON – A strong end of the calendar year for the Sacred Heart University men's ice hockey team led to Felix Trudeau and Teagan Kendrick earning monthly honors from Atlantic Hockey America (AHA). Trudeau was named the conference's Forward of the Month for December, while Kendrick collected Goaltender and Rookie of the Month accolades.

The Pioneers went 1-1-1 over their final three games of 2026, earning a win over Robert Morris and a resilient 3-3 tie and shootout victory over Army.

Trudeau led the way for the Pioneers with four points and three goals, continuing to show why he's one of the most dangerous forwards in the country. The Terrebonne, Quebec, scored twice in the third period against Army on Dec. 5 to erase one-goal deficits and force overtime. He followed that performance up with a goal and an assist in SHU's 5-2 win over Robert Morris on Dec. 30. He ended the month leading the country with 1.0 goals per game and he was second in power play goals with seven. Trudeau collects his second career Forward of the Month honor and will add it to his two Forward of the Week nods.

On the other end of the ice, Kendrick was outstanding in his three December starts. The St. Albert, Alberta, native went 1-1-1 with 78 saves, a 2.30 goals against average and a .918 save percentage. He started the month with a then-season-best 40 saves in the opener against Army, doing everything in his power to keep the Black Knights within arm's distance. Kendrick capped the month with his second collegiate win, stopping 23 Colonial shots in a 5-2 victory at the Martire Family Arena. Today's honors mark the first for the first year goaltender.

Sacred Heart hits the road again next weekend for a series at Niagara on Friday-Saturday, Jan. 9-10, at the Purple Eagles' Dwyer Arena in Niagara Falls, N.Y. The opening puck drop for the first game is slated for 6 p.m. on Friday.
