How It Happened:
The Pioneers battled through a marathon opening set that featured numerous ties and momentum swings, with kills from Aleksa Mandic, Zach Flynn, and Aaron Johnson helping SHU stay level deep into the set.
After trading points late, Sacred Heart fought off multiple set points before St. Thomas Aquinas capitalized on a late attack to claim the opener, 28–26.
The second set followed a similar script, as Armaan Dosanjh orchestrated the offense and Mandic, Flynn, and Jack Chow delivered key swings to keep the score tight. SHU held leads midway through the frame and remained tied at 24–24, but the Spartans used a late run and timely blocks to secure a 25–22 win.
In the third set, Sacred Heart again showed resilience, with Flynn and Jaron Popp contributing at the net and Johnson adding pressure from the service line to help the Pioneers erase an early deficit. The teams were tied at 20–20 before St. Thomas Aquinas closed on a decisive run, sealing the set 25–22 and completing the sweep.

Mandic and Flynn had a team-high 13 kills.
