ADDISON, Ill. – For the third straight season, the Sacred Heart University bowling team will compete at the Intercollegiate Team Championships (ITC) and will send at least one Pioneer to the Intercollegiate Singles Championships (ISC) after qualifiers this weekend.
Individually, Hope Bunk and Karleigh LeMond will head to ISCs after finishing second and fifth, respectively, at the Addison, Ill., event. After six games of competition, Bunk totaled 1,320 pins and Lemond had 1,223 to be two of just 24 bowlers to vie for the title in their respective divisions.
As a team, the Pios bowled a total of 64 Baker games over Saturday and Sunday with a shot at being one of the 16 teams to compete at the championship. SHU took second at Addison with 12,604 pins, just trailing Maryville. SHU's pin total was more than enough, as the top for teams at each advanced.
All advancing teams and players will head to Ashwaubenon Bowling Alley in Green Bay, Wis., for their respective championship. The singles championship will span April 13-18, while the team championship will go from April 15-18.

The Pioneers will next head to their first CUSA Championship this week, as the five-day event will go from March 18-22 at Colonial Lanes in Harahan, La.
