Hubert Secures First Metro Weekly Award of the Year

Fairfield, Conn. – Senior right side hitter Lauren Hubert capped off opening weekend earning the Pioneers first Metro Conference Player of the Week accolade as announced by the conference office. Hubert led Sacred Heart women's volleyball with 48 kills combined over the three matches at the Black Knight Invitational.
For the weekend, Hubert finished with double figure kills in all three matches and completed double doubles in the final two matches against UAlbany and Iowa. All combined, she added 33 digs.
Offensively, her high for the weekend came in the second match, a three-set sweep of the UAlbany Great Danes where she drilled 19 kills and finished with a .412 attack percentage. She opened up the season with 17 kills against the host Army Black Knights and closed out the weekend with a dozen kills against the Hawkeyes.
Hubert and the Pioneers will get back to work this coming weekend when they open up their home court schedule hosting the Sacred Heart Volleyball Invitational, welcoming Le Moyne, Binghamton and Central Connecticut to the Pitt Center. SHU will open up the two-day event on Friday evening, hosting Le Moyne at 6:00 p.m. All matches over the weekend will be available live on ESPN+.
