SMITHFIELD, R.I. — The Sacred Heart University field hockey team fell, 4-0, to Bryant on Sunday afternoon at Cowen Field.

Of Note:
Bryant took a 1-0 lead in the 15th minute and added another goal in the second quarter to take a 2-0 advantage into halftime. Valentina Funes scored both goals for the Bulldogs off penalty corners.
Bryant extended its lead in the third quarter when Funes completed her hat trick with a goal at 41:07. Funes added her fourth goal of the afternoon less than two minutes into the fourth quarter to make it a 4-0 game.
Sacred Heart generated 13 shots, including three on goal, and earned 10 penalty corners. Hailey Vogt led the Pioneers with two shots on goal, while Blaire Sparks and Lauren King each recorded two shots.
Brianna Cooper made two saves in the first half before Ruby Butler took over in goal for the final 30 minutes.
