
Sacred Heart Downed by Drexel 4-0

(Philadelphia , PA) - The Drexel Dragons scored three first-half goals in a 4-0 win over the Sacred Heart field hockey team Friday night. Ashley Santee carried the Drexel offense with a career-best two goals, and Jenna Phillips recorded her second shutout of the season as the Dragons improved to 3-2 over the Pioneers.
Amanda Fleischut made it 1-0 Drexel, dribbling in the middle of
the circle and firing the first goal of the night in. Santee
made it 2-0 Drexel on a penalty corner, then made it 3-0 on a
rebound off Kim Tunell's shot which was stopped on a stick-save by
Kim Stow.
Brittney Hausman added an insurance goal late in the
second, taking a good pass from center from Susan
Ciufol and sending a one-timer home for a 4-0 lead.
Chelsea Carlson had Sacred Heart's best scoring chance of the game, but was stopped on a breakaway by Phillips on her only save of the game in the first half. Stow made nine saves on the night.
The Pioneers are next in action on the road at Bucknell next Saturday, September 25th at 1:00 pm.
