Box Score (Bethlehem, PA) – Four different players scored, as the Sacred Heart Field Hockey team beat the Lehigh Mountain Hawks 4-0 Friday night on the road.
Lindsay Kasten (Fair Haven, NJ) scored 4:47 into the game for the only goal SHU would need. Sarah Bergman (Blandon, PA) hit her with a pass that set her up alone in front to give the Pioneers the lead. SHU went on to score two more in the half, with Stephanie Frye (Walpole, MA) taking a quick pass from Kim Pobutkiewicz (West Long Branch, NJ) right off a corner at 12:09 to make it 2-0. Melinda Feyko (Morrisville, PA) scored at 27:11, taking a feed from Karly Duven (Freehold, NJ) and sliding a shot inside the post.
In the second half, Duven scored at 38:35 as she followed Liz Bergman (Blandon, PA) on a run to the goal, taking her pass from the left side and knocking it in.
Lehigh outshot Sacred Heart 18-16, however Mary Altepeter (Chesterfield, MO) made the goals hold up with a ten saves for the freshman's first career shutout.
The Pioneers improve to 5-2 on the year with the win, and are next set to take on Yale Sunday, September 23 in New Haven at 2:00 pm.
