Ellen Nighbor Finishes In Top 10 As Pioneers Place Fourth In SHU Fall Classic

MILFORD, Conn. – The Sacred Heart women's golf team wrapped up the fall season on Monday with a fourth-place finish in the SHU Fall Classic at Great River Golf Club in Milford.
Freshman Ellen Nighbor (Glen Ellyn, Ill.) was the Pioneers' low scorer on the day, posting a 79 on the par-72 course. She finished the tournament as Sacred Heart's top finisher, placing in a tie for eighth with a two-round score of 160. Jennifer Clinton (Sayville, N.Y.) wrapped up the tournament in 13th place individually after an 85 on Monday. Stephanie Lowe (Cedar Park, Texas) improved by five strokes from Sunday to Monday, carding an 85 in the final round to finish in a tie for 23rd. Kelsey Hayward (Seekonk, Mass.) rounded out the Pioneers' scoring group with a 92 on Monday, finishing tied for 25th.
Sacred Heart had a team score of 674 to finish in fourth place out of six teams, 17 shots ahead of fifth place Fairleigh Dickinson. Seton Hall won the team title, followed by Yale and Boston University.
