HANOVER, N.H – The Sacred Heart men's team faced a tough test on Saturday evening in 38th ranked Dartmouth at the Boss Tennis Center. The Pioneers battled, nearly earning the doubles point, but would end up getting swept by the Big Green to lose their third straight and move to 4-6.
Mathieu Pilote-Schraenen and Cory Seltman came closest to an upset victory, battling to force a tiebreaker in second singles, where they would fall 7-3. Matt Dean and Brian Power also gave their opponents trouble at first doubles before eventually losing 6-4.
Derek Chapman won the most games at singles, taking five in a 6-2, 6-3 setback against his third singles opponent. Pilote-Schraenen won four games at fourth singles.
SHU is off until its Spring Break trip to Puerto Rico, where it begins play against the University of Puerto Rico on Tuesday, March 8.
