
SHU Falls To 1-2 In NEC After 37-21 Loss To Duquesne

FAIRFIELD, Conn. – The Sacred Heart football team fell to 1-2 in the Northeast Conference after a 37-21 loss to the Duquesne Dukes at Campus Field.

The Turning Point
After a pair of John Domit field goals gave Duquesne a 6-0 lead after the first quarter, the Pioneers tied the game with an eight-play, 73-yard drive. Senior quarterback Kevin Duke punctuated the drive with a one-yard touchdown run, but the extra point was missed. The Dukes then rattled off 28 straight points. A.J. Hines scored three consecutive rushing touchdowns, with his 26-yard touchdown run at the 9:52 mark of the third giving Duquesne a 34-6 lead.

- Chavious rushed for 94 yards and had his second career touchdown reception.
