The Sacred Heart University field hockey team opened the 2017 season at Lock Haven, falling 4-1. The Pioneers, 0-1, continue their season opening road trip on Sunday at Saint Francis University.
Sophomore Makenna Crawford tallied her first collegiate goal for the Pioneers. Emily Degennaro started in goal, allowing one goal. Hailey Power played the second half in net, making a game-high six saves.
The Scoring
- Alyscia Smith tallied the only goal of the first-half, netting a direct shot off of a penalty corner
- Lock Haven extended the lead to 2-0 3:05 into the second-half, with a Michele Enck tally
- Crawford knocked in a long drive from Nichole Tolli for the Pioneers tally at the 46:11 mark
- Tamia Roach (48:58) answered just shy of three minutes later and MacKenzie Farley tallied the final goal in the 53rd minute for the host
