
Women's Hockey Win's 4-0 Against Catherine

SHELTON, Conn. – Sacred Heart women's ice hockey defeated Catherine 4-0 on Saturday afternoon. The Pioneers improved to 15-4, while St Catherine now sit at 1-11.
The two teams were playing solid defense during the opening stages of the first period until SHU opened the scoring at the 7:22 with Katie Stueve getting the Pioneers off the mark. Jayne Lewis extended SHU's lead further at the 13:43 mark, assisted by Taylor Moreland.
Stueve notched her second of the game at the 4::55 mark of the second period.
SHU found the back of the net once more in the final period with Jayne Lewis also scoring her second of the game and teams forth at the 17:13 mark to complete the scoring for a 4-0 Pioneer win.
Starting goalie Sarah Erban earned the win after making 24 saves. Kelsey Miller made 30 saves for Catherine University.
The Pioneers are back in action Tuesday, Jan. 9 hosting Lebanon Valley at 2:00 pm.
