Greene Secures NEWHA Rookie of the Week Honor

Goaltender Carly Greene nabs first conference award of her Pioneer career.
WINTHROP, Mass. — Following a career-high 32 saves in relief, Sacred Heart University women's ice hockey goalie Carly Greene garnered her first NEWHA Rookie of the Week award on Tuesday.
The Minnetonka, Minn. Native faced 36 shots at home against Yale this Saturday for her second time in the cage for the Pioneers.
Greene was also on the honor roll for Goaltender of the Week. The first-year was not the only Pioneer in the spotlight as Nicole Guidi earned an honorable mention nod for Defensive Player of the Week.
Franklin Pierce's Marissa Massaro earned Player of the Week, along with teammate Suzzette Faucher for Goaltender of the Week. This week's Defensive Player of the Week accolade went to Saint Anselm's Madi Ressler.
The Red & White are back in action this Saturday for an 8:30 p.m. matchup at home against in-state league opponent Post University.
