HAMDEN, Conn. — In the final matchup of the regular season, the Sacred Heart University field hockey team fell, 3-0, to Quinnipiac on Sunday.
The Bobcats took the 1-0 lead 11 minutes into the second period for the eventual game-winning goal. The home team tallied two more after the half, including one off a penalty corner in the third.
QU outshot Sacred Heart, 14-3, and took seven corners compared to the visitors two.
Goalkeepers Erin Burgess made five saves in her opening stint between the posts.
The Red & White finished with a 2-16 overall, while the Bobcats concluded with a 3-12 record.
