Klein and Guidi Capture NEWHA Honors

Anna Klein earns first Player of the Week award this season.
WITHROP, Mass. — The Sacred Heart University women's ice hockey team accounted for half the NEWHA weekly awards as Anna Klein secured Player of the Week and Nicole Guidi nabbed Defensive Player of the Week on Tuesday.
For the second time this season, Guidi secured this accolade, which came off a strong weekend on the road at Saint Michael's College.
The senior logged two assists on Friday before tallying a hat trick against the Purple Knights on Saturday.
Klein tabbed her first Player of the Week honor since her sophomore season on December 12, 2019. The co-captain recorded her second career hat trick and first of the season on Friday against SMC.
The Saint Paul, Minn. native didn't stop there as she tallied three assists to setup three of the Pioneer's six goals on Saturday.
Klein leads the conference in point scoring with eight goals and 11 assists.
The other half of the awards landed in the laps of LIU's Tindra Holm and Jeannie Wallner for Goaltender of the Week and Rookie of the Week, respectively.
Sacred Heart competes in its first-ever Nutmeg Classic hosted by UConn on November 26-27.
