FAIRFIELD, Conn.- A late third-period goal by non-conference foe St. Lawrence would send the Sacred Heart University Men's Ice Hockey game into overtime resulting in a 2-2 draw.

Of Note

St. Lawrence would take a short-handed goal early in the first period at 5:41 into the period to be exact off the stick of Jordan Steinmetz to put the Saints ahead 1-0.
Sophomore Tim Clifton did answer for the Pioneers with his first goal of the year coming six minutes later 11:40 into the period from feeds by senior Alex Bates and sophomore Patrick Dawson.
SHU came out firing again in the second period as senior captain Marc Johnstone would give the Pioneers the lead 4:43 into the period off assists by Grant Anderson and Kevin Lombardi to put SHU ahead 2-1.
That was Johnstone's first goal in three games that he has played.
A little under half-way into the period, Kaden Pickering would answer for the Saints sending the game into the third tied up at 2-2.
A scoreless third period sent the game into overtime where sophomore Braeden Tuck had a chance to seal the game-winner on a break-away but an incredible save by the netminder Emil Zetterquist would keep the result to be a 2-2 draw.
