WORCESTER, Mass. — Despite outshooting Holy Cross, 12-10, the Sacred Heart University field hockey team couldn't capitalize as it fell to Holy Cross, 1-0, on Sunday. Co-captain Kayla Kruk led with a game-high of four.
Holy Cross's Meggan Fourie got one past Erin Burgess in the second quarter for the lone goal of the game.
Samantha Maresca and Burgess split time in the cage. Burgess saw nine shots and made one save during the first half.
The Red & White return to their home turf at Johnson Field on Friday, September 17 for a 7 p.m. meeting with Hofstra.
