PHILADELPHIA, Pa. — In his first tournament this season,
Petar Janicijevic Agatonovic helped the undefeated foil threesome for the Sacred Heart University men's fencing team at the University of Pennsylvania Invitational on Saturday.
The senior went 9-6 with a 3-0 run against Haverford in the 15-12 victory in round three.
With strong support from
Lawrence Tan and
Tomas Koeck, the foil squad went 23-17 through five rounds. Tan tallied a 10-2 bout win record with an undefeated stint against UNC and NJIT in the first two rounds, while Koeck went 6-6.
Cameron Silver had himself a day with a 10-3 bout victory record in the epee and went undefeated against NJIT and Haverford in round two and three. Alongside him,
Frank Riccio also stacked up a 3-0 triumph over Haverford after going 7-8 in the tournament.
In the narrow 5-4 loss against UNC, Silver and Riccio captured all the points with a pair of 2-1 records.
SHU competes in its second Northeast Fencing Conference meet on February 5 at Wellesley.
