
Men’s Fencing Opens Duals with 4-1 Record at Vassar Invitational

Poughkeepsie, N.Y. – Opening up the duals portion of its schedule, the Sacred Heart men's fencing team finished with a 4-1 record at the Vassar Invitational taking wins over Drew, Lafayette, Hunter and the host Vassar.
Leading the way for the Pioneers was junior Chaissen Costello in Foil who closed out his day with a perfect 13-0 record on the day. Also in Foil, Trey Plastaras and Alexander Ligos each finished with a pair of 3-0 results. Plastaras saw his sweeps come against Drew and Lafayette, while Ligos finished 3-0 against both Lafayette and Vassar.
A pair of Pioneers racked up 3-0 sweeps in Sabre with Andrew Boulais and Jonathan Morales earning one apiece with Boulais' coming against Lafayette and Morales against Wagner. Rounding out the sweeps on the day was Declan McAdoo in Epee as he rounded out five perfect 3-0 performances against Lafayette.
Men's fencing will return to action once more in the calendar year with their lone home event of the year, the Tradition Meet on Saturday, December 6 at the William H. Pitt Center.
