Pair of Pioneers Win NEWHA Awards

Guidi and Elmore Recognized

FAIRFIELD, Conn. -- Nicole Guidi and Molly Elmore received NEWHA Honors for their play in last week's games, winning Defensive Player of the Week and Goaltender of the Week respectively.

Across a 1-1 week for Sacred Heart, Guidi blocked three shots and compiled a plus-two on-ice rating. The senior also contributed offensively in a big way, assisting three goals on Tuesday against Post. Guidi is now a four-time winner of NEWHA Defensive Player of the Week honors.

Elmore picked up her first victory of the season for the Pioneers on Tuesday, Oct. 4, making 12 saves against Post on the way to victory. She leads the team with a .937 save percentage to date and has made 59 saves across two games.
