Three Pioneers honored on Senior Day
FAIRFIELD, Conn.— Closing out the regular season at Park Avenue Field for the 2022 season, the Sacred Heart University men's soccer team rallied to a 3-1 win against Howard on Sunday. The game also marked Senior Day for players Etienne Murugarren, Justin Siegel and Rob Taylor IV.

Sacred Heart got on the board after junior Olliver Persson converted off the assist from first year Asa Moskowitz in the 16th minute. Howard's Nathan Leggett notched an equalizer in the 41st minute to make it a 1-1 game going into halftime.
Looking to take back the lead in the second half, Persson, in traffic, found first year Zach Lorenz who tallied the game-winning goal and first of his career in the 80th minute.
Howard had an opportunity to tie the game for the second time on a penalty kick in the 84th minute, but it was stopped by senior Justin Siegel.
A minute later, senior Rob Taylor IV received the ball from first year Javier Lopez Cayuela and notching his second goal of the season in the 85th minute.
The Pioneers led the Bison in shots, 17-13, with 8-6 on target. In addition, to having a 6-2 edge in corner kick advantages.
Siegel grabbed five saves on the game and is now tied with Paul Kokias (1979-80) for 13th overall in program history with 111 career stops.
The Pioneers improved to five wins on the season for the first time since 2016 and three NEC victories for the first since 2018.
Sacred Heart has also been unbeaten in its last four contests. The Pioneers have not had four or more unbeaten games in a row since 2010.
