HAMDEN, Conn. — Sacred Heart field hockey competed in their final game of the 2022 season, losing 3-0 on the road to Quinnipiac. The Bobcats scored under 90 seconds into the start of the contest and added insurance goals 35:51 and 55:39 into the game to seal the victory. The loss resembles last years season ending when the Pioneers fell to Quinnipiac on the road with the same score.
Samantha Maresca took the start between the posts today for the Pioneers, saving seven of 14 shots taken by the Bobcats. Maresca finishes the year with a 2-12 record for Sacred Heart.
The Pioneers will end their year with a 1-6 NEC record and 2-16 overall, a nearly identical record from their 2021 season. Quinnipiac finishes with an 8-11 overall record and 2-5 in Big East action.
