Women's Basketball Gears Up for FAU Thanksgiving Tournament

Pioneers play Butler on Thursday at 2 p.m.
BOCA RATON, Fla.— The Sacred Heart University women's basketball team competes at the Florida Atlantic University Thanksgiving Tournament, which is set to take place on Nov. 25-26 at Eleanor R. Baldwin Arena. The Pioneers begin the tournament against Big East opponent Butler on Thursday at 2 p.m.
OPENING TIP
- Sacred Heart is competing in its first Thanksgiving Tournament since 2019. The Pioneers are also up against new opponents, beginning with Butler on Friday.
- Sacred Heart has won four games in program history against Big East foes. The Pioneers will look for its first Big East victory since 2017.
- Sacred Heart is currently leading the Northeast Conference with a 4.0 rebounding margin and is second in offensive rebounds with 13.8 per game and third in rebounds overall at 39.0.
- Ny'Ceara Pryor is leading Sacred Heart with 14.8 points, 3.2 assists and 4.4 steals per game in her inaugural college season. She is currently ranked nationally in steals (2nd, 22) and steals per game (5th, 4.4). Pryor recently earned her second-straight NEC Rookie of the Week honors on Nov. 21.
- Carly Stroemel is currently the leader in the NEC in blocks (7) and blocks per game (1.4). The senior is also nationally ranked at 92nd in total blocks.
- Mannetti enters her 10th season as head coach. She holds a 128-137 (.483) overall record and 95-67 (.586) in Northeast Conference play.
- Sacred Heart was picked to finish sixth in the NEC Preseason Poll.
