
Women’s Hockey Falls Short to MSU Mankato

MANKATO, Minn. — Women's ice hockey hit the road in the Great Lakes State on Friday, losing to Minnesota State Mankato 4-1.
MSU struck first taking the lead 7:44 into the first period. The Mavericks chipped in another goal 4:06 into the second period and added a third just before the intermission. Delani Mackay grabbed the lone goal for the Pioneers on an even strength goal 8:33 into the third period. The Mavericks killed a late Sacred Heart power play to seal the game 4-1 on an empty net goal.
Carly Greene took the net for the fifth time for the Pioneers, allowing four goals and stopping 25 of 29 shots sent by the Mavericks. Greene moves to 1-4 on the year between the posts.
Sacred Heart falls to 3-6-1 overall on the year and will face off against MSU Mankato for a rematch tomorrow afternoon at 2p.m.
