Of Note:
On its first drive of the afternoon, Yale scored a touchdown on a first and 10 at the SHU 40 and converted on the extra point attempt for the early advantage, 7-0. Following a third and one opportunity, Grooms was able to connect with Tipton up the middle of the field for the 40-yard touchdown.

Despite a three and out by the Pioneers' offense on their next drive, the defensive unit made a huge stop as Marques Mason intercepted Groom's pass at the Yale 36. From there, SHU moved up the field quickly courtesy of Rob McCoy, Malik Grant, Kevin McGuire, and Ethan Hilliman, but a missed 26-yard field goal attempt by Sam Renzi kept the score to a one-possession game.

The second quarter saw the Bulldogs' lead grow to 21 as the hosts tallied a rushing and passing touchdown, respectively. Tipton struck again, scoring his second touchdown, while Ryan Lindley closed out the half with a seven-yard touchdown reception.

Sacred Heart's first and only afternoon points came in the third quarter when Renzi put the ball between the uprights for the 19-yard field goal.

After closing out the third deep in Yale territory following a 65-yard drive, the Pioneers started the fourth in good field position, but an interception and 85-yard return by Yale's Joseph Vaughn quieted the visitors' sidelines. Three plays later, Yale recorded its fourth touchdown of the game and pushed its advantage to 28-3.

The Pioneers continued to fight back offensively finding themselves a yard or two outside the red zone, but was unsuccessful against a strong defensive unit.

Yale capped the scoring with a 42-yard field goal later in the fourth.
