Men’s Wrestling Wraps Up Weekend at Journeyman Classic

16 Pios placed in the top three

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – The Sacred Heart men's wrestling team wrapped up its weekend in Pennsylvania as the Pioneers competed in the Journeyman Classic. Sixteen Pioneers finished in the top three of their brackets.

Notables:

The Pioneers had two individuals – Anthony Jacobsen and Mason Balian – record a first-place finish in their weight class, while six individuals placed second.
Eight individuals claimed third and three individuals placed fourth.
Jacobsen earned a first-place finish in his portion of the 184 backet.
Balian got the win needed to claim first at 149.
Posting a pair of victories at 285 was Brendan Gilchrist, who recorded one of the Pios' six score-place marks.
Along with Gilchrist, Dakota Asuncion (149), Jeff Miller (197), Luke Albanese (149), Nick Franzen (165), and Nick Demarco (149) placed second in their designated portion of the bracket.
Finishing third for the Pioneers was Andrew Foy (285), Calvin Pineda (165), Chris DeLena (197), Jake Carlucci (133), Jon Siemsen (165), Nico Bogardus (165), Ryan Dal Pizzol (141), and Thomas Volpe (141).
Rounding out the top four was David Rozenblum (165), Lucas Esposito (174), and Matt Walker (197).
