
LeMond Sweeps NEC Weekly Awards

The first year standout bowled all seven games at the second NEC meet
SOMERSET, N.J. – After leading all bowlers at the second Northeast Conference (NEC) meet of the season, Sacred Heart University women's bowling first year standout Karleigh LeMond swept the conference's weekly awards, being named the NEC Player and Rookie of the Week on Wednesday afternoon.
Sacred Heart tied the second-best record at the meet, going 4-3 in seven Baker matches. The Pios won once on Saturday and swept the Sunday competition.
LeMond owned the highest average (19.91) among all bowlers who played all seven matches at the weekend event. The Jasper, Ind., native led all competitors with an 88.6% fill% and an 88.9% makable spare%, hitting 100% of her nine-pin spares.
This weekend's NEC meet marked the team's last until after the New Year. The Pioneers return to the lanes on Saturday, Jan. 13, for the Viking Classic in Carmel, N.Y.
